  • Entering sixth year as the Tigers' tight ends coach in 2015
  • Start in coaching in 1982 at Nicholls State as the receivers coach after a brief career in the NFL and CFL
  • Coached 15 bowl games as an assistant at the collegiate level
  • Major college coaching stops include Auburn, Georgia, Texas A&M, and Clemson
  • Oversees a tight end group that continues to be a major part of LSU's offensive success whether it be in the running or passing game

Personal


  • Born and raised in Baton Rouge
  • Played quarterback at LSU under head coach Charlie McClendon from 1976-79
  • Threw for 2,770 yards and 16 touchdowns during his career
  • Was named Freshman All-SEC in 1976.
  • Married to Amy, with three children – Krystalin, Brittany Rose and Steven – and one grandchild.
