Career


  • joined the Tigers in the spring of 2014, after spending the 2013 season at Virginia Tech in the same capacity
  • quickly established the Tiger offensive line as one of the best in the country
  • Mentored offensive tackle La'el Collins, who was named the winner of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy a second team All-America selection for the Tigers in 2014
  • served as offensive line coach at Auburn when the Tigers won the 2010 national title
  • began coaching career in 1993 as a high school coach at Riverside High School in El Paso

Personal


  • native of Garland, Texas
  • earned four letters as an offensive tackle for UTEP between 1987 and 1990
  • spent two years playing for current Kansas City Chiefs' head coach Andy Reid
  • was in training camp with both the Los Angeles Raiders of the NFL and the San Antonio Riders of the World Football League before entering coaching
  • married to wife, Sheri, with four children: daughters Bailey and Jada, and sons Garrison and Greydon
