Career


  • Named LSU's defensive coordinator in January 2016 after three seasons at Wisonsin
  • Elevated to associate head coach position on September 25, 2016
  • Coached a Badger defense that combined to rank among the top 5 in the nation in the four major defensive categories – scoring, total yards, passing yards and rushing yards
  • Mentored Wisconsin linebacker Chris Borland, who was named 2014 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-American as a senior
  • Spent the 2012 season at Utah State, helping the Aggies to a school record 11 wins and a 41-15 victory over Toledo in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
  • Began coaching career at Redlands High School (CA) as an assistant coach in 1995

  • Graduated from Redlands High School in California in 1994
  • Graduated from California Lutheran in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy
  • Earned master's degree in interdisciplinary studies at Texas Tech in 2002
  • Started coaching after numerous surgeries ended his playing career
  • Married to wife, Dione, with two daughters, Jaelyn and Jordyn, and a son, Ronin
